Twisting Twitter Towards Crime

Right when the Flash Mob gets passé, enter the Flash Rob:

A message goes out over Twitter and suddenly hordes of young people appear in a store and start stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of merchandise. Then, as quickly as they came, they disappear.

The article provides a race angle, or have these Flash Robs merely “become a way to feel powerful”?

Or are people doing the math and realizing that with numbers on their side, free thrills and merchandise are too good to ignore?
