Perhaps social media is only good for change when it negatively affects unfavored governments?
“Free flow of information can be used for good. But it can also be used for ill,” U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron said in an address to Parliament Thursday. “And when people are using social media for violence we need to stop them.”

But is a government shutdown of social networking sites anything like an answer to controlling the riots in London? And won’t social networking tools come in very handy for tracking the perpetrators? And informing people, wherever they are, what’s happening?
